1. High School Football Games Pass The Breathalyzer →

Not that I am pro-underage drinking… not anymore, anyway. I was just shocked when I heard.

My daughter, a Six-Grader (don’t even get me started because I am not sure I approve… but there will be adult supervision), is going to her first high school football game. It was all they could talk about in the morning carpool. Then it was stated how some kids were booted last week for not passing a breathalyzer test. I was… ALL kids are tested? By an officer?

    It has to help. Right?

But won’t kids that drink just avoid going to the game?

  2. I Don't Care What You Say.... PROVE IT! →

You knew I was going to say something…

I don’t believe you can take a test “consistent with a positive” from 2010, 5 years after his last Tour title, and use it to prove guilt for the following 12 years! Sure the USADA had 10 people ready to testify, but unless they were testifying as an eyewitness to the allegations I don’t know that he would have been proven guilty.

Do I think Armstrong is noble for ending the fight? No. I do believe it is smart. Unlike Floyd Landis (guilty of doping) and Tyler Hamilton (guilty of doping) Armstrong does want to BURN THIS BITCH DOWN! or “… IF I GO DOWN YOU’RE ALL GOING DOWN WITH ME!” To continue fighting and possibly testifying could ruin much more. The careers of all those that testify against him. Public opinion would force his intact sponsors of Livestrong and LA Foundation to be pulled…

The court of public opinion, people that only watch cycling when the Tour de France 1-hour recap is on prior to NBC’s coverage of a lame golf tournament, convicted him long ago. So if he would’ve won, or fought it out, the majority of people would’ve still called him a cheater.

I know what I saw when I obsessed and watched everyone of his 7 wins. No one will that that away. They haven’t proven anything!

  3. I Want Wiggo Win #TdF12 →

How can you not want him to win? Especially after these comments from Velo News interview:

“I don’t feel that I should have to sit here and justify everything I’ve done to the world,” he said. “I’m not just some shit rider who’s come from nowhere.

“I’ve been six-times world champion (on the track), fourth in the Tour de France, third in the Vuelta. It’s not like I’ve just come from nowhere.

“I’ve got an incredible pedigree behind me.”

“To me it’s them (critics) pissing all over everything I’ve done by saying, ‘yeah, he’s cheating’.

“That’s what really gets to me. Everyone in their individual jobs works hard at what they do… Yeah, I’m in the yellow jersey and I’m inspiring kids in the UK to take up cycling or whatever.

“But ultimately I’ve worked hard to be in this position and I deserve every minute of what I’ve been through in this last week or so, especially after sitting at home last year and watching it on the television.”

“There’s one reason I’m in this position and that’s because I’ve worked hard,” he added.

“I’m tested by the UCI God knows how many times a year, God knows how many times on this race and the Dauphiné, blood tested every morning… What more can I do ? I don’t know really ? I’d love to know.”

The only thing that ruins the tour for me every year, the fucking press. To draw conclusions and similarities to a past team that, as of yet, hasn’t done anything wrong! Or they come up with crap like this:

The team has come under question in recent days over its work with former Rabobank doctor Geert Leinders, who oversaw rider health during a period between 1997 and 2007 when, according to at least one former rider, the team was accepting of doping practices.

The press will qualify guilt over the accusations from, how did they put it, ONE FORMER RIDER!? Is that right?

I love cycling, but I hate where the reporting of it is right now; guilty until you can prove innocence FOREVER. Now. Past, and not just your past, but everyone you were in contact with. Future.

Note: Usually, since I want someone to win. They lose. Sorry Bradley.

  4. Population Is Growing, Could Be OK if We Weren't Also Growing →

Seems pretty logical “…We Are Carrying The Food For 300 Million People Around Our Waistlines”. Over population is a threat. Where to put everyone is one problem. How to feed them, is even bigger. Maybe if I didn’t eat enough for two people someone else could eat. That is a pretty powerful thought. So if everyone in America would exercise, eat less, and consume less. Food production and supply could go to others that need it….

  5. Nebraska Going for it! Good for Farmers 'Prop 19' →

Hemp was a successful, drought-resistant farm crop until 1937, and again needed during World War II, Shoemaker said, noting that it can be used for ethanol, twine, rope, canvas and paper.

This is what I support. I understand the “shock value” this will generate the “pro-smokers” are welcomed, but I wish we could concentrate on the economic value while PROTECTING children. Tall order.
